Lately, on InstagramLast night we had a cookie picnic under the Christmas tree. We used pull apart cookie dough that may have been licked by a toddler in the process. Henry insisted on wearing a football jersey over his pjs and told us that his favorite part of the Christmas story is when the shepherd gets eaten by the chicken. 🧐 Right before our picnic we had to clean glass out of the floorboards because an energetic toddler got excited at dinner. Etta was hanging on by a thread after a day of crap naps. Which is to say, last night we had a moment of beauty and calm in the midst of chaos. Which is to say- Christmas.I had some major parenting fails today. But ignoring that rope and letting Henry stick his face right up against the trains was definitely a parenting win. [Also, Henry is standing in one of several Spots Where Hannah Tried Unsuccessfully To Orchestrate Her Own Engagement -December 2011. They basically constitute a lesser known Christmas tour of the city.]
