Lately, on Instagram“We live in a city of flowers!!!” - Henry, who learned pretty quickly that spring means mom stops the stroller every five seconds to plunge her face into every flowering bush and tree.Buying a home has been so emotionally draining. Not only because it is expensive (though, holy cow) or because there are endless mountains of paperwork (gross), but because it forces you to define who you are as a family, and then put money behind that definition. It forces hard conversations about values and priorities and spending habits and schools and careers and communities. It forces you to take stock of how you are allocating your time, money, and energy. Yes, a family is the people in it, but the space where those people live out their commitment to each other matters. Lots of hard conversations over the past couple months, and lots of good realizations. Ready for a new home and a new stage. (This is not the home, btw, but it sure is the embodiment of my color loving soul.)
